A Life Lived Loud and Fast
Born Karim Chmielnski on October 9, 1965, in Trenton, New York, and raised in Melbourne, Florida, Chaos’s journey to punk stardom began in skateboarding. By age 10, he was touring as a skateboarder before a chance introduction to Black Flag by Duane Peters in 1982 ignited his passion for punk rock.
Chaos started his music career with Casey and the Skate Punx before evolving into Disorderly Conduct. After relocating to Los Angeles, the band transformed into Amen, a group that would become a cornerstone of the 90s punk rock scene.
A Decade of Iconic Albums
Amen’s discography includes four influential studio albums: Slave (1994), Amen (1999), We Have Come for Your Parents (2000), and Death Before Musick (2004). Chaos also collaborated with notable punk acts like Christian Death and black metal supergroup Scum.
Despite starting work on a new Amen album in 2014, the project faced delays due to touring commitments and the COVID-19 pandemic, leaving fans longing for what could have been.
