Why Teenage Bottlerocket Should Be on Every Punk Rock Fan’s Playlist

Teenage Bottlerocket is one of my all-time favorite punk rock bands, and honestly, I can’t even remember the first time I heard them. What I do remember is the album that got me hooked: Tales from Wyoming. It’s an incredible record and a perfect gateway into their entire discography. Since discovering that album, I’ve dived into all their music, and their latest release, Sick Sesh!, is just as energetic and addictive—if not even better—than their earlier work.

While I haven’t had the chance to see Teenage Bottlerocket live yet, catching one of their shows is high on my bucket list. Their raw energy and catchy punk rock sound make them a must-see for any fan of the genre.

The band, formed in 2000 in Laramie, Wyoming, was started by twin brothers Ray and Brandon Carlisle after their previous group, Homeless Wonders, came to an end. Teenage Bottlerocket’s music is unapologetically rooted in classic punk rock, heavily influenced by bands like the Ramones, Screeching Weasel, Green Day, and The Lillingtons. Fans often describe their sound as “Ramones-core” or “Weasel-core,” perfectly capturing their high-energy, leather-jacket vibe.

Whether you’re a seasoned punk rock fan or new to the genre, Teenage Bottlerocket is a band that delivers. From catchy hooks to electrifying energy, their music is perfect for blasting in the car or turning up at home. If you haven’t explored their discography yet, now’s the time—you won’t regret it.
